Janet’s own journey shows what’s possible when adults are supported to learn. She returned to education in her 20s and 30s, discovering new confidence, new skills, and a future she hadn’t imagined, thanks to the encouragement of dedicated teachers who helped her believe in what she could achieve.

“I wouldn’t be a Principal now if it wasn’t for adult education. It transformed my life.”

That’s why she’s passionate about protecting opportunities for others:
“To deliver the vision the government says it has, we need to invest in our adults as much as we do in our young people. Adult education is really important to us as a nation.”
